August 2026 — Into the jungle

Greetings from Bolivia!

August gave us another opportunity to see God’s faithfulness in both the challenges and blessings of missionary life. Thank you for praying, encouraging us, and standing with us as we serve here.

Into the jungle

We spent almost two weeks in San Lorenzo, encouraging indigenous students, teachers, and missionary families at the CBM Bible school. We shared meals, made bread, enjoyed games, and worshiped together. Jorge preached at the local church and helped repair sound, lighting, and other fixtures. The BBN radio repeater was repaired so biblical teaching could be heard in the area again.

We experienced firsthand how quickly conditions can change. Temperatures dropped dramatically—from around 100°F into the 40s—which seemed to happen almost overnight.

For families living in these remote communities, changes like these can be especially difficult. Many do not have adequate warm clothing or good shoes, and sickness can come quickly.

During this time, a one-year-old child needed medical attention, and the father of the family struggled with allergies brought on by the sudden weather change. At the same time, daily life continued, including going out to find plantains or fish for the family.

Those almost two weeks seemed much longer, but they reminded us again of the importance of adapting to life in the jungle and simply being present with the people we have come to serve.

Back in Cochabamba

After returning to the city, the ministry continued. Jorge continues serving at the ITM hangar, helping with the aviation work that makes ministry in remote areas possible.

Together, we continue participating in our local church and helping care for people who come out of the jungle with medical needs. Sometimes ministry is traveling into a remote community; other times it is receiving and helping those who have made the difficult journey into the city.

Through it all, our desire remains the same: to serve people, encourage believers, and faithfully share the Word of God.

Prayer requests

1. That God would touch hearts to partner with us financially so we can continue serving in Bolivia.
2. For health, strength, and energy to continue the work God has given us.
3. For ITM and our missionaries serving in the jungle—that God would protect them, especially from the dangers associated with narcotraffickers in remote areas.
4. That God would work in the hearts of those who hear His Word and draw them to Himself.

You are part of this ministry

We are deeply thankful for everyone who prays, encourages us, and supports this ministry financially. Your partnership helps make it possible for us to continue serving indigenous communities, assisting missionaries, supporting aviation ministry, caring for those with medical needs, and sharing the gospel.

Thank you for walking alongside us. We are grateful that you are part of what God is doing here in Bolivia.
